Unity and Devotion: Feast of Santa Monica '25

  Today marks the celebration of Santa Monica Parish Church, formally known as the Feast of Santa Monica, which is commemorated every 27th of August, at Santa Monica Parish Church — Panay,Capiz.

 

  A mass was held to honor the beloved patron, it was prepared Rev. Fr. Condrado Palete Jr. who's known as the Parish Priest ; and was attended by many. Amid limited space, it was still a crowded celebration, as the church was filled by faithful devoters of the patron. This shows how much the locals — Pan-ayanons, are all in one in this once a year event.

  Moreover, some prominent figures from Local Government Unit (LGU) of Panay, was also present during the mass, such as; Mayor Sonny Besa, along side with SB Member Julius Asis and other SB Members.

  The Most Rev. Victor B. Bendico, D.D., from the Archbishop of Capiz led the said mass. During his homily he delivered a message to gave way to the life of Santa Monica, and how her prayer and patience became the 'good soil' that will later give her a great outcome.

"Ukon indi aware si Santa Monica sang iya ginhimo? Apang amo yadto ang grasya sang Diyos sa iya, gin preparar niya paagi sa iya nga pagpangamuyo, pagpasensya. Ang isa ka maayo nga duta, para sa iya nga bata, indi lamang nangin Kristiano, kundi nangin ministro sang mahal nga Diyos, kag naging produkto sang isa ka pinaka-maalam nga tyelogo sa istorya sang aton nga simbahan". Which means that Santa Monica, first started her deep faith in God, in just mere prayers, but later on, will cause her to find out that it will soon lead her to becoming one of the respected patrons of the Catholic church.

  The mass ended with great heights, fostering a much deeper faith for the followers of Santa Monica. While the church also wishes everyone to still nourish and strengthen their devotion towards the patron.
