Ellis Triumphs Triathlon Junior Cup 2025
Pinoy pride! A Pinay triathlete Kira Ellis wins gold medal in 2025 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup that held in Riga Latvia.
Ellis defeated the 16 participants to achieve a gold medal at the tournament. While Belgium's Luca Vanderbruggen secured the second place, and Sara Walter from Germany took the third place.
Ellis recorded a total time of 1:05:07 including 12:04 in the swim; 34:27 in biking and 17:36 in running.
In a post of Ellis, she stated that she was happy to be back after "not racing for a while."
“This year has been quite tough for me. There were definitely a lot of low moments, but also so many lessons that helped me grow as an athlete,” Ellis said in a post.
“A few weeks before Riga, my coaches and I were still debating whether I was ready to compete. I hadn’t really done any interval sessions — mostly just steady runs — so we weren’t sure where my run would stand. But to me, just getting on to a start line again was all I’ve wished for. Based on my swim and bike training, I knew I had a shot at the podium, but I tried not to put too much pressure on myself and just enjoy racing again," Ellis added.
Above all, Kira's victory mark as one of the philippines' brightest young athletes, proving that growth often comes from overcoming setbacks, and somtimes winning starts with simply finding your way back to the starting line. From now on, Kira hasn't said when she'll be competing again, so stay tuned.
