Press Freedom: A Pathway for Truth and Justice
On this day, August 30th, we commemorate the rights and freedom of the press. It is the day to honor those who speak for the people, those who write every facts, and to captures every diverse perspectives that exist in the course of truth. But as the time goes by, the will to supress this freedom, grew stronger each day, many journalist are jailed, intimidated and even terminated, for just doing their job. But today, marks a significant step in breaking the chains that threatens the press.
We from the ADELPA English Correspondence, firmly believes that freedom of the press, is also the freedom of truth, justice, equality, transparency, and a right for criticism.
It is like a tree, that started from a small seedling, but as it goes on, it started to grow itself some branches, that makes it unique, and strong to withstand any hindrance that goes in its path — freedom of the press, at some point may tend to lose some parts, some leaves will fall, some branches will be broken, and some trunks will topple, but one thing's for sure; it will still stand, strongly, despite all of the efforts to bring it down, press freedom will fight, not just for itself, but for the people whom it serves.
In the end, press freedom, is one of the thing, that this generation needs, considering the wide spread of misinformation and disinformation, the fact, should not be put on hold — fight for right, fight for the justice, fight for the freedom of the press.
