Pope Leo's Message for the Poor

 


You Are My Hope: Pope Leo XIV's message For the 9th World Day of the poor

    As the church prepares to mark the 9th world day of the poor on Sunday, 16th of November 2025, Pope Leo XIV issued a message, centered on the theme you are my hope, and expresses his expectation that this Jubilee year may encourage the development of policies aimed at condensing Forms of poverty that is profound from  the past until now. Pope Leo xíu urges Christians to recognise, the poor not as objets Of charity but as protagonot a Hope.

  

 The Pope's message, was released on the Feast Day of Saint Anthony of Padua Patron of the Poor, it calls on the faithful to rediscover Christian hope as a response to the instability. "Hope in God never dissapoints" the Pope affirms, recalling Saint Paul's assurance that "we have our hope set on the living God". Also Pope Leo notes how the poor Although deprived of material security, often embody a hope that is deep and enduring.

    Christian hope is like an anchor that grounds our hearts in the promise of the lord Jesus. Concluding his message, the Pope Leo entrusts all to mary ,comforter of the afflicted, inviting the Chruch and world to raise a "song of hope with the words of the Te Deum. (a latin Hymn of graa and thank giving to God),

    Pope Leo XIV’s message for the 9th World Day of the Poor reminds us that the poor are not just people who need help, but people who give us hope. He asks all Christians to see the poor with love and respect, not just as those who receive, but also as those who inspire. Even though they may not have many things, they often have strong faith and deep hope. The Pope encourages everyone to trust in God, because God’s hope never fails. He ends his message by asking Mary to guide us and invites the Church to thank God with joy and hope.
